Why You Shouldn't Undervalue Your Flower Designs

Sometimes Im scrolling through social media, and every now and then, a floral catastrophe ( In my opinion) or a suspiciously too cheaply prices masterpiece sends me into a fit of rage.

After a hearty rant with Janette and our floristry network I gather my wits and remember that for every floral atrocity and rediculusly underpriced arrangement, there are gazillions of masterpieces designed by amazing florists all over the world. These florists and floral designers not only design their creations with the finesse but also know how to charge properly.

It is so important as professionals to resist the urge to succumb to the downward spiral of offering discounted cheap designs with very little profit let for you. Instead, focus on your craft and you dont need to justified your pricing to anyone.

Yes I get it; it can be tough. It can be so hard to overlook the latest “shite” being sold through the likes of facebook groups etc , but believe me, not every customer is led solely by price & those that are are probably not your customer.

My best advice to you was something I heard recently from Sarah Campbell at the Intrigue Conference, “Don’t price for what you THINK your customer will pay , price what you want them to pay”.

You will here it said many time, 'How much?? Really?? !' but there is always the customer who will say “Really?? Is that all??!!” concentrate on those customers who appreciate quality over a bargain.

Remember, in this blooming business, resilience is your best bouquet. Ignore the noise, focus on your floral skills, and watch your business blossom while maintaining your sanity and love of the industry.
